The laboratory
A laboratory built around the conversation.
Founded in 2021. We make ceramic veneers, crowns, bridges and implant restorations for dental practices in Singapore, from a bench at Liat Towers.
Who we are
Founded to keep the ceramics close to hand.
The laboratory was founded in 2021, and grew out of a practice that had spent years wanting its ceramics nearer. That is still how we work: an in-house bench, a named ceramist on every case, and a short walk between the dentist and the person shaping the tooth.
We are a customised laboratory rather than a volume one. Cases arrive as impressions or intraoral scans, and are planned, built and checked here before they go back to you.
Communication is multiplication. We live a life-style that breathes close collaboration with our clinicians, to provide ideal outcomes for each patient.
How we work
Three standards, applied to every case.
Checked on the model while the case is still ours to fix.
High aesthetics
Anterior work is judged in daylight, by the patient, for years. We build to that standard rather than to the schedule.
High quality
Margins, occlusion and proximal contacts are checked on the articulated model before a case leaves us — so that what arrives at the chair needs adjusting as little as possible.
Digital and hand
Designed digitally. Finished by eye.
We work from intraoral scans as readily as from impressions, and design digitally where it makes the case better — planning the shape before any ceramic is fired, so that what you agree at the design stage is what arrives at the chair.
Digital does not replace the hand at the end of it. The last decisions on an anterior case are still made under magnification, by a person.
At the bench
Somano Luang Phaxay, master ceramist.
Somano joined us in 2026, after twenty-four years in ceramics — qualified in Nancy, then London, Avignon and Paris, and a studio of his own in Phuket. He has been a member of the oral design International Foundation since 2022, inducted by Willi Geller.
For eleven years he sat in Gérald Ubassy's master classes three times a year, and translated them live from French into English — you cannot translate a master class you have not understood. Since 2018 he has taught his own, to technicians and dentists across South East Asia.
From London in 2002 he has spent time at the chair as well as at the bench, seeing his own ceramics tried in rather than only on a model. That is the first of our three standards with a person attached to it.
